Bottom Line

Head shelter is to be taken very seriously. We ride hard and have the scars and bruises to prove it! A couple years ago, a fellow member of our family came short of a “double” for the duration of a dual slalom race and landed on his face. A couple shots of morphine and an ambulance ride later he had his mouth wired shut and an oral surgeon’s business card.

It’s critical to buy and wear the suitable head gear and that’s why we believe that the Giro Full Faced Remedy Bike Helmet will do the occupation at a spectacular price.

5Giro Hex
By J. Alver
This helmet is excellent. I was using a Pro-Tec BMX/Skate helmet, which is super safe, but has no ventilation. I would go on 15+ mile cross country rides and get gnarly headaches afterwards from the heat. This would happen even when the air temperature was reasonable. I would keep an extra water bottle with me just to pour on my head to cool down. The Hex has completely solved this problem. It’s also pretty comfortable. The only complaint I have (and it’s a small one), is that the straps are a little funky at first. I just had to get it adjusted right and wear it a few times, now they’re not a bother. I can’t say anything for safety since I haven’t (and hopefully never will) tested that function of the helmet. This is my go to helmet for mountain or road riding. I guess it’s not as aerodynamic as a “road helmet,” so it’s a little noisier and it’s probably not hip. But it works for me. Definitely recommend it if you are looking for a good helmet at a decent price. I went with the weird color one, since it was even cheaper.

5Great fitting helmet, looks good, great retension system
By Brian J. Lewis
Been a fan of Giro helmets for awhile. Have used multiple Giro helmets for my road cycling and wanted a dedicated helmet for mountain biking. With the new Roc Loc 5 system offered on this helmet I jumped at it and am very pleased with the results. Roc Loc 5 is a huge improvement over Roc Loc 4 and I feel its the best strap system available today. Helmet size Medium fits great for my head. Plenty of ventilation. Great price for a Giro quality helmet.

5Very cool helmet!!
By Christian Escobar
I purchased the matte black finish, this is by far one of the coolest looking helmets on the market! I love it! It fits perfect, it’s very well ventilated while riding and its extremely comfortable to wear. I commute 9 miles in direct sunlight m-f in 100 degree weather and I had no problems with it being black (some people say don’t get black because it gets too hot in the sun).
